The Stingray is a Class 3 competition chassis for the Axial® SCX24™, designed and machined in Texas. It runs a 172.5mm wheelbase, a 13.25 degree skid plate angle, and a flat skid plate with 10 degrees of compensated offset. A Mofo RC Pancake motor sits at an ideal angle while maintaining driveshaft efficiency.

Everything on it is meant to be tuned. There are six front and eight rear upper link positions, shock mounting positions throughout the front and rear, a multi-position carrier bearing, and rubber band mounts built into both ends. Run it with the upper chassis rails and the magnetic top cover for the full Stingray look, or pull them off and run a body. Future wheelbase options require only a change of links.

The chassis, links and lower link skid plates are lightly machine-polished mil-spec 7075 aluminum. The plastics are Nylon 12, light and tough enough to take a hit.

Geometry

  • 172.5mm wheelbase. Future wheelbase options require only a change of links.
  • Optimized 13.25 degree skid plate angle.
  • 10 degree compensated offset, which corrects motor angle on the flat skid plate.
  • Multi-position adjustable carrier bearing that fits both short and long bearing shafts. Short shaft included.

Motor and Drivetrain

  • Designed around the Mofo RC Pancake motor lineup.
  • Designed to accept a MEUS dig unit, though custom fitting, trimming or modification of the nylon rear brace may be necessary.

Links and Tuneability

  • Eight rear and six front upper link positions, giving a wide tuning range with both standard and four-wheel-steering axles.
  • Mil-spec 7075 aluminum links.
  • Rear links with high-clearance bends that work with both 4WS and standard axles.
  • Front links with sliding angle cuts. The included lower link skid plates accept Mofo RC keel weight slugs, which add weight down low and help keep the chassis from hanging up. Four stainless slugs included.

Suspension

  • Shock mounting positions throughout the front and rear. We recommend 39mm or 40mm shocks for the best ride height and suspension tuning.
  • Built-in rubber band mounts front and rear, so suspension tuning is quick.

Body and Plastics

  • Nylon 12 plastics that are light, strong and good looking.
  • High-clearance side boards with plenty of room and built-in boulder sliders at the frame rail.
  • Can be run with or without the upper chassis rails and top cover, either with a body or in the full Stingray configuration.
  • Hinging magnetic motor top cover for easy access and a clean look.
    • Unicorn mounting holes included front and rear.

Fixed for this chassis

The 172.5mm wheelbase settles these, so there is nothing to choose. Tick anything you already have.

Emulsion big bores, sold as a set of 4. 39mm is what we build.

Hub option

The MF6 hubs are the upgrade if you want the extra width or the weight down low. One pack does all four corners.

Pick your tires

63mm and up is what suits this wheel. JConcepts are sold by the pair, so a set of four is two packs. MEUS come as a set of four with sponge inserts.
